The Indiana Regional Medical Center has implemented new safety measures in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As previously announced, patients and visitors to IRMC may only enter through the main entrance or the Emergency Department. The main entrance will only be open from 5:30 AM to 8 PM during the week, Saturdays from 7 to 3, and Sundays from 9 to 5. The Emergency department entrance is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Before being permitted to enter the hospital, everyone will be subjected to a health screening.
The Urgicare will be open, but the Urgicare entrance will not. Urgicare patients must enter through the Emergency Department to be screened before being sent to the Urgicare.
There are new visitor restrictions in place. For obstetrics patients, only one visitor is permitted and that person must be the only visitor for the duration of the admission. For other patients, only one visitor will be permitted. Only one other person may accompany patients arriving for appointments, and only one adult person may accompany patients in the Emergency Department. All visitors to IRMC must be 16 years old or older, and any visitor who has symptoms of illness will not be permitted to enter.
IRMC has also closed the S&T Wellness Center until further notice.
Covid-19 testing is being done on a case-by-case basis according to the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and the state Department of Health. President and CEO Steve Wolfe says he is confident that IRMC will be prepared for whatever adversities come their way.
