It’s now official: Andrew McCutchen is back with the Bucs. On Friday, the team held a ceremony where McCutchen officially signed his one-year contract with the Bucs worth $5 million. Cutch got a round of applause from those gathered for the news conference. McCutchen said the feeling he had yesterday was indescribable, and reminisced about being drafted by the Bucs.
One of the reasons McCutchen is back is simple. He wants to win in the Burgh.
Opening day is March 30th with a road game against Cincinatti. Training Camp starts on February 13th for Pitchers and Catchers taking part in the World Baseball Classic, and the first full workouts will be held February 16th. To make room on the 40 man roster, the Bucs designated outfielder Miguel Andujar for assignment.
