River Valley earned its ninth straight conference win after squeaking by Marion Center last night.

Penns Manor downed Central Mountain, 53-36, in non-conference action.
In the WPIAL, Indiana beat Penn Hills, 50-31, at 5th Street Gym. Eve Fiala led the Little Indians with 23 points while Katie Kovalchick added 14. The JV also won, 43-20. They were led by Cassie Boyer with 13 points. Addy Hutton added 12.
TRACK & FIELD
The Indiana indoor track and field team saw strong individual performances at the State College Invitational held at Penn State University yesterday. The girls broke four school records, headlined by senior Abbie Huey breaking her own records for the 60m dash (7.88) and 200m (25.32). Freshman Addie Fry set a school record after posting a 2:26.80 time in the 800m. Then, the 4×200 relay team of Huey, Fry, Hannah Cowburn and Eve Kuzneski set the final record after recording a 3rd place finish with a time of 1:54.56.
Jacob Gill led the boys with a 2nd place finish in the 200m with a time of 23.57.
Next up is a meet at Edinboro University on the 28th.
RIFLE
Indiana’s rifle team fell to Penn Trafford by the score of 754-24x to 799-56x. Top shooter for Indiana was Sarah Genchur with a 98-3x. Their record falls to 1-7 overall, 1-4 in the section. They return to action Tuesday with a road match against Mt. Lebanon.
CONGRATS, EVAN!
Northern Cambria’s Evan Wiewiora signed his letter of intent to play baseball at St. Vincent College. He posted a .413 batting average with the Colts and acts as a two-way player, bouncing between pitcher and catcher.
