The Pirates defeated Toronto, 19-13, in spring training action on Friday.
Seven different Pirates hit home runs, including Ke’Bryan Hayes, who staked Chris Archer to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Archer started and pitched two scoreless innings.
The Pirates trailed the Jays, 10-7, after six innings but scored six runs in the seventh and eighth innings to pull away.
The Bucs take on the Yankees today at 1:05 p.m.
