VINTONDALE, CAMBRIA COUNTY
State police say a 34-year-old Vintondale man has been charged with simple assault and harassment following a domestic violence incident February 21st at a home along Griffith Street in Vintondale.
Police say a 9-year-old boy called 911 to report that “his father was beating his mother up”, and when they responded, they found the 27-year-old woman with a bloody, swollen lip.
Police did not release the identity of the suspect, but court records identify 34-year-old Jamie Lynn Strayer. He is currently free after posting ten percent of $5,000 bond.
WEST WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP
State police say a 20-year-old Johnstown woman is facing possible drug charges after she was pulled over for a traffic violation last Wednesday at Route 22 East and Clark Road in West Wheatfield Township. Police say the woman showed signs of drug impairment, and she had marijuana and alcohol in her possession. She was taken to IRMC, where she submitted to a blood draw. Charges are pending the results from the crime lab.
Another traffic stop last Wednesday along Route 22 East, this time at Palmerton Road in West Wheatfield Township, may result in drug charges. Police pulled over 36-year-old Ronald Schamus of Monessen, Westmoreland County, and seized heroin and drug paraphernalia.
WHITE TOWNSHIP
An Indiana woman lost her wallet on February 22nd or the 23rd, and someone found it and attempted to make a purchase on one of the three credit cards inside. They were unsuccessful, and the 52-year-old woman did not suffer monetary loss.
