The winter break is over and IUP students are returning to campus this weekend. After having Monday off for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, classes for the spring semester will begin on Tuesday.
This will be the final semester of the current four-year labor contract between the State System schools and APSCUF, the faculty union. Negotiations on a new deal began in September and the latest session was scheduled in December, but neither side has disclosed anything about that meeting. The contract is in effect through June 30th. The contract for coaches at the State System schools, which is negotiated separately from the faculty, also expires this year.
Graduation at IUP is scheduled for May 5th and 6th.
