Leaf collection is now underway for Indiana Borough.
Indiana Borough Public Works Director Dave Fairman said that his department has started leaf pickup and they will work in a very specific order, but a specific schedule is sketchy. The borough’s leaf vacuum will start int he fourth ward, then head to first ward, then second and finally 3rd, but specifically when the leaves will be picked up is unknwon, and is based on how many leaves are collected.
Leaves are to be raked up to the curb between the curb and sidewalk, and make sure there are no twigs or limbs, and no garden trimmings either, as that will clog the leaf vacuum. Leaf collection will continue until the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Speaking of the borough’s public works department, they were successful with their tree-limb pickup. Fairman said they had a lot to pick up. The wood chips from the tree-limb pickup will be used at Blue Spruce park on their trails.
