While the national gas price average has gone up slightly, the statewide and countywide gas price averages went down slightly.
The national average cost of a gallon of gas, according to Triple-A, is $3.29 this morning. It is an increase of a penny over last week, and eight cents over the last month. It is also a penny less than last year at this time. The statewide average is $3.63 a gallon, which is three cents less than last week and ten cents lower than last month, but is still 12 cents higher than last year.
Indiana County’s average this morning is $3.74, two cents lower than last week. The lowest average in our region is Jefferson County at $3.71, with Westmoreland following at $3.72. Cambria County checks in at $3.73 a gallon. Both Clearfield and Armstrong Counties report a $3.76 gallon to mark the highest averages in the surrounding area.
Northampton County in the east has the lowest county-wide average at $3.47, while the highest average is reported in Warren County $3.79 a gallon.
Among the gas stations reporting to Gasbuddy.com, prices in Indiana and Homer City gas prices are at $3.75. Gas prices in Clymer are at $3.69, and prices in Blairsville range from $3.69 to $3.75 a gallon.
