the Penguins lost 4-1 to the streaking Winnipeg Jets last night at PPG Paints Arena. The only goal for the Pens came from Drew O’Connor, with his second of the season coming in the first period at the 16:42 mark, tying the goal scored by Blake Wheeler earlier in the frame. In the second, Mark Scheifele scored the first of two on the night, followed by Nikolaj Ehlers less than a minute after. Scheifele scored the other goal in the third period to give the Jets some extra insurance.
After the game, Pens Head Coach Mike Sullivan said that even though it was a patchwork lineup for the Pens, they did not play up to their high standards.
No rest for the weary, as the Pens play in Charlotte tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes. You can hear the game on U-92.5 FM after IUP Basketball.
