One item is on the agenda for tonight’s Indiana School Board meeting, but it has to do with an upcoming construction project at East Pike Elementary School.
Tonight, the board will consider giving the administration the authorization to send a notice of intent award to three contractors for the East Pike Entranceway Project. According to the proposed agenda, the board is considering awarding the general contracting contract to CNC Construction of Penn Run at a cost of $1,120,905; the plumbing contract to Baer Services of Johnstown at a cost of $89,100 and A and MP Electric of Guys Mills will receive the notice for the electrical portion of the contract at a cost of $148,000. The official contracts will be brought back to the board for approval at a later date.
The Marion Center School Board is also scheduled to meet tonight and they will consider their portion of the ARIN operating budget for the next school year. The budget tops out at $3,507,939, and Marion Center’s share will come to $48,946, which is a reduction of $1,377 from last year. The board will also consider taking part in a consortium with ARIN for the Pregnant and Parenting Teens program at a cost of $900, and they will consider changing the district calendar to make March 23rd a school day to make up for the snow day on February 7th.
