For the second time in less than a year, the United School Board will once again seek a new superintendent.
On the proposed agenda for tonight’s meeting, the United School Board is expected to accept the resignation of District Superintendent Teresa Young. She was named to the position at a special board meeting in June of last year, taking over for Barbara Parkins.
No word has been given on why Young is resigning her position, but the board is waiving the requirement that she provide the district with a 60-day notice, and that she continues to work as superintendent for 60 days from the effective date of resignation.
The board will also look to retain the services of Ronald Saffron as district solicitor for a one-year term, and to readopt the principles for Governance and Leadership from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.
The meeting will start at 7:30 tonight at the United School District Board Room.
