At a meeting on Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved a school safety service partnership agreement between the district and Indiana Borough Police.
Superintendent Mike Vuckovich said that this new agreement will expand on what Indiana Borough Police can do to protect the district.
The agreement now goes to Indiana Borough Council for its approval.
In other business, the board approved the Act 1 Resolution for the 2023-2024 budget. The resolution means the board will not increase taxes above the state-mandated limit, which for Indiana is 5.2%. Audit and Finance Committee Chair Julia Trimarchi-Cuccaro said it’s the board’s mission to have a minimal tax increase, if any at all.
The board also granted tenure to special ed teacher Keith Lee Manning and Ben Franklin nurse Lindy Stossel.
