An Amish wood shop caught fire yesterday in South Mahoning Township.
The fire was reported at 5935 Mahoning Road in Dayton. Plumville, Dayton, Marion Center and Rural Valley fire departments were called out at 2:40 PM along with the Hazmat Team and Citizens’ Ambulance. Fire officials say that the owner was using a cutting torch and set the fire accidentally. By the time the first crews arrived on the scene, the fire was mostly extinguished.
Officials said the damage was minimal and there were no reported injuries.
