State police are investigating a case of access device fraud involving a Shelocta man. Police say the victim had used his debit card to purchase gas at a convenience store in Plumcreek Township, near Elderton. Soon after, someone made purchases at four different Walmart stores, totaling more than $400. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at the Indiana station, at 357-1960.
Police are investigating a burglary at a home in Montgomery Township. It happened between 10 PM on the night of September 1st and noon the following day. A 23-year-old Marion Center man reported the theft of three Dewalt power tools – a mitre saw, a sawzall, a battery charger, and an impact drill, along with a Craftsman circular saw. The tools had been in an unlocked garage along Route 286 in Montgomery Township.
Indiana Borough police report two incidents of criminal mischief. A man in the company of three other men damaged a light fixture in front of a business in the 900 block of Philadelphia Street early yesterday. The suspect is a white male who may have been wearing a flannel shirt and blue jeans, and they were walking westbound. Police also say someone damaged a rear window in the 700 block of School Street, probably by throwing a beer can through it, between Friday and yesterday.
Two people were injured Saturday evening in a crash on Route 119 in East Mahoning Township. State police say 59-year-old Brenda Lydic of Clymer was stopped in the northbound lane and started to make a left turn into a gravel parking lot, when 35-year-old Robert Klayko Jr. of Northern Cambria tried to pass her on the left, striking her vehicle’s left rear corner. Both vehicles then went into the lot, where Klayko’s car hit some fencing and Lydic’s vehicle then impacted Klayko’s car.
Both drivers suffered suspected minor injuries. A Blairsville woman riding in Lydic’s vehicle was unhurt.
