The White Township Supervisors appointed a new chairperson during their reorganization meeting Tuesday afternoon.
By a unanimous vote, supervisors appointed Gail McCauley as the new chair of the board. She takes over for George Lenz, who announced that he would not run again for the position in December.
McCauley has served as a supervisor since January 2000 and said she plans on keeping the needs of township residents a priority.
As for Lenz, he said he is not “stepping down”, and that he plans on staying involved within the township.
Among other nominations, Rich Gallo was re-elected as vice president and Chris Anderson as Township Manager.
In other business, the board approved several notable dates for the new year. Regular board meetings will be held twice a month with the first meeting starting at 1 p.m. and the second starting at 7 p.m. Supervisors also approved May 22-26 for Spring Yard Waste Collection, as well as the Fall Leaf Collection dates. Those are:
