After a relatively quiet New Year’s Eve, it was even calmer on New Year’s Day for Indiana counties first responders.
Only two calls were reported by Indiana County 911 on Sunday. The first was at 12:54 a.m., as the Black lick and Blairsville fire departments were dispatched for a dumpster fire. The dumpster was located at the Independent Baptist Church. Black Lick fire officials were able to extinguish the fire quickly.
Both departments were called out again at 5:13 a.m. for reported vehicle accident along Old William Penn highway in Burrell Township. Black Lick fire officials say that a vehicle went into a structure. Once on scene, first responders stabilized a vehicle that was up on its side against the wall along with the roof of a porch.
