An Indiana restaurateur has announced he will run once again for the Pennsylvania State Senate seat.
Tony DeLoretto announced in a news release that he is seeking the Democratic party nomination in the upcoming election for the 41st Senate District seat. He becomes the first Democratic party candidate to announce his intention to run for the Senate seat. He ran for the position twice before: once against former Senator Don White in 2016 and once last year during the special election to fill White’s seat when he retired from office.
DeLoretto said in his statement that he felt that no one should run unopposed for their seat and that politicians in Harrisburg are “not getting the job done” when it comes to good-paying jobs, a healthy environment, affordable health care and higher education.
The 41st district is currently served by Senator Joe Pittman, who announced on January 21st that he would run for re-election. The primary election will be held on April 28.
