Preliminary hearings have been scheduled on March 3rd for two Cambria County women accused of running an online gambling setup on Facebook.
32-year-old Brittany Winings of Northern Cambria and 26-year-old Tiffany Dupas of Hastings are both facing the same set of charges: misdemeanor gambling devices, allowing gambling, and soliciting gambling, plus summary disorderly conduct.
State police say the women ran a gambling site called “BID WIN SAVE”, which allowed people to purchase the chance to spin a simulated wheel to determine a winner. They could win cash, lottery tickets, electronics, household items, gift cards, and other prizes. Investigators determined that Winings and Dupas received $81,507 in payments between May and July of last year. They had more than 2,000 “members” who purchased the chances.
The charges were filed last Wednesday.
