PSP-INDIANA
State police have charged a Marion Center man with assault with a weapon for an incident on Wednesday in Brush Valley Township. State police say they were called at 8:17 PM on the 22nd by 27-year-old Natisha Milone of Warren, Ohio, for an incident that happened earlier in the day at a residence at the intersection of South 6th and Route 954 East in Brush Valley Township. Milone reported that she suffered injuries in an incident involving 29-year-old Mason Kerner. Details on the incident were not release, but Kerner was charged by State Police with felony aggravated assault and strangulation, misdemeanor unlawful restraint and simple assault and a summary charge of harassment. Kerner is now in Indiana County Jail as he was unable to post $25,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for February 5th.
Two people from Indiana have been charged with drug possession after a traffic stop in White Township. Troopers say that on Friday, Shonn Miller and Alberta Marsh, both 50 year olds from Indiana were pulled over at the intersection of South 5th Street and Maple Street, and police seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia and prescription pills.
A man from Heilwood now could face DUI charges after a crash in Pine Township early Friday morning. State police say that the crash happened at the intersection of Routes 403 and 553, when the un-named driver crashed into a tree. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and submitted to a legal blood draw. Charges are pending the results of a blood test.
State police are looking for a handgun that has gone missing. Police say that the gun was reported missing from a residence on Getty Road in East Mahoning Township by the gun’s owner, who was not identified. The gun is a Hi Point C9 9mm handgun, black in color with a piece of the handle missing on the left side of the gun. Investigation is still going on.
State police have charged a Saltsburg woman with shoplifting after an incident at the Blairsville Walmart. Police say at 1:54 PM on Friday, 23-year-old Kelli Kunkle tried to take around $201 worth of items out of the store without paying for it, but she was stopped by Walmart’s Loss Prevention personnel after she got by the registers. Kunkle was charged by police and released. She is currently awaiting a hearing for another case of retail theft in an incident on December 29th.
INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana borough Police were called for the theft of a street sign. Police say that between January 19th and 20th, they were called to the intersection of South 6th and Washington Street by the borough’s street department. They say someone tried to steal the stop sign during that time, and the sign was taken several blocks away to South 5th and Locust Street, where it was left by the thief. The sign was found and returned to the street department. Police are continuing to investigate.
