State representative Jim Struzzi has announced that 12 volunteer fire and ambulance departments in his district have received grants from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the State Fire Commissioner’s office.
The money that each fire department will receive will go towards facility construction or renovation projects, purchase or repair of equipment, training or debt reduction. The departments that will receive funding include:
- Armagh and East Wheatfield Fire Company, who will get $11,920
- Aultman volunteer fire association, who will get $11,509
- Black Lick Fire Company, who will get $13,152
- Brush Valley Fire Company, who will get $11,509
- Cherryhill Township Fire Company, who will get $13,015
- Citizens Ambulance, who will get $9,192
- Clyde Volunteer Fire Department, who will get $11,509
- Clymer Volunteer Fire Company 1, who will get $13,152
- Coral-Graceton Volunteer Fire Company, who will get $11,509
- Creekside Fire Company, who will get $11,646
- Homer City Volunteer Fire Company, who will get $12,194
- Indiana Fire Association, who will get $14,248
The funding for these grants comes from Slot Machine gaming and not the state’s general fund.
