A Marion Center student is getting ready to perform tomorrow night as part of Pittsburgh’s First Night celebration.
It was announced last week that Maddie Buffone, a senior at Marion Center high School, will perform at the Pittsburgh cultural trust’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration. The chance to perform was the top prize in this year’s Williams sing-off. Buffone talked about how she heard about the contest and how she entered.
Buffone performed for her audition the song “Into the Unknown” from the Disney film “Frozen 2”. That song will be performed when Maddie takes the Dollar Bank stage in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District around 6:00 PM today. Buffone has performed in many school and Community Theater productions, and hopes to go to college to continue to study the performing arts, with the hopes of turning it into a career later in life. After her performance, Williams Sing-Off judge Nick Cortazzo will perform. He is currently performing as Link Larkin in the national tour of “Hairspray.”
