The Pitt basketball team also returns to action today after having last played on December 20th, when they scored a 2-point win over Syracuse. Coach Jeff Capel’s Panthers come into today’s game home game against North Carolina at 9-4, the same record as the Tar Heels, but Capel knows North Carolina, the preseason number one team in the nation, is a very talented team with a roster of blue chip players.
Capel says despite some unexpected early losses, this is essentially the same Tar Heels team that played in the national championship game last season.
Capel says North Carolina is loaded.
Pitt is 2-0 in the ACC. North Carolina is 1-1. Today’s game tips off at noon at the Petersen Events Center. Because of Pitt’s football bowl game, the basketball game will not be heard as usual on WCCS.
