Two stolen cars in Blairsville Borough Tuesday night were found over the last 24 hours.
Blairsville Borough Police Chief Lou Sacco said that a white Nissan Murano was found this morning in a driveway along the 100 block of West Chestnut Street. The car was initially reported stolen from a home, also along West Chestnut Street, around 11:41 p.m. Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, a second car that was reported stolen that night, a green 2019 Jeep Cherokee, was located last night along North Avenue in Latrobe and returned to its owner. It was originally reported stolen around 10:47 p.m. from a home along Johnson Avenue.
Jennifer Fritz, the vehicle’s owner, said she was able to track its location through transactions that the suspects attempted to make with her card Wednesday morning. She alerted Blairsville police, who then alerted Latrobe police, which allowed for a quick retrieval.
Sacco adds that anyone with information on the thefts should call Blairsville Borough Police at 724-459-7555. He also reminds residents to lock their cars and to remove valuable items from them. In addition, he urges residents to not leave their keys inside their cars.
