After a very active Tuesday, first responders had a calm day yesterday.
One fire was reported yesterday, and that was a vehicle fire on Route 119 in East Mahoning Township. Marion Center fire officials said in a post on their Facebook page that this was in the East Mahoning area of Marion Center near Route 403 North. A Jeep had caught fire and the fire was coming out from underneath it. The call was reported to Indiana County 911 at 7:37 p.m.
There were two calls for utility lines down. One of those was on North Harmony Road in Cherry Hill Township at 1:41 p.m., and the other was on Johnsonburg Road in Canoe Township at 5:18 p.m. Cherry Hill and Rossiter fire departments were dispatched for the respective incidents.
There were also two reported automatic fire alarm activations. Indiana fire Association was called out at 2:01 p.m. for a fire alarm on West Pike Road in White Township. And at 4:20 p.m., the Saltsburg fire department was dispatched to a location on Point Street in Saltsburg Borough for a fire alarm activation.
