An upcoming expo in the Blairsville area is beginning to take shape and gain support from the county Chamber of Commerce.
The first-ever Indiana County Polytechnic Career Expo is set for October 11th from 6-8 PM at the Blairsville Senior High School Gym, and is open to all students and their parents from all over the county. In a news release, Jim Struzzi of the chamber said the focus of this expo will be to show students the many educational paths that will lead to lucrative careers in the technical and service industries.
As part of their support of the upcoming expo, the Chamber is offering a $250 scholarship to a student who attends the expo. Any student who registers and attends a post-secondary institution can use the scholarship, and there is also an option for those who win the scholarship so they can use the money to purchase tools or occupational hardware for any career posted on the Pennsylvania High-Priority Occupation List.
You can register for the conference by logging on to their registration website
