A Homer City man was charged with assault last week after a fight with his brother at a Center Township home.
State police say 28-year-old Robert Coughlin attacked his brother from behind on January 14th as 34-year-old Richard Coughlin sat in a chair. Robert is accused of punching his brother repeatedly and shoving him into a wall, shattering a glass picture. When police arrived, Richard was bleeding from his left hand and elbow.
Robert Coughlin was taken into custody without incident and subsequently arraigned before District Judge Guy Haberl, who ordered him held at the county jail with bond set at $5,000. A preliminary hearing on charges of simple assault and harassment is scheduled for this afternoon.
