State police have charged a Pittsburgh man with passing bad checks at a car dealership in Burrell Township. Troopers say that on December 14th, 53-year-old Henry Reese wrote a check to Watson Chevrolet on Route 22 for $12,568 as he tried to buy a car from the dealership. The check was eventually returned with the classification of “Unable to Locate Account”.
Two shoplifting incidents were reported at the White Township Walmart by state police. The first incident was reported on December 18th at 4:16 PM when someone reportedly took a rotisserie chicken and a Fur Real doll with a total value of around $84. No information has been released on any suspects in this case. The other incident was on January 6th when a 37-year-old Homer City man was charged with retail theft after he stole an electric razor. He was caught past the point of sale.
INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana borough police have charged a Philadelphia man with possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop back in August. Police say the traffic stop happened in the 400 block of South 7th Street back on August 25th. When police pulled over the vehicle, officers noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When they searched the vehicle, they found about 46 grams of marijuana, and the driver, identified as Jeremiah Alston, admitted that the marijuana was his. A criminal complaint of possession of a controlled substance and illegal tinting of the windshield were filed through district judge Guy Haberl’s office.
