A man from Home is charged with theft after he used someone else’s credit card and racked up a lot of charges. State police have not released any names in connection with the incident, but they do say that between December 16th and 26th, a 32-year-old man from Home unlawfully used the bank card of a 54-year-old Home man to make $2244 worth of purchases.
No one was hurt in a crash on Route 553 in Pine Township. State police say that 22-year-old Patience Huey of Kittanning was driving on east on 553 and was going through a right curve in the road when she lost control of her vehicle. The car went across both lanes of traffic before going off the roadway and hitting an embankment. The car was disabled in the crash. Neither Huey nor her passenger, 18-year-old Jasiah Williams of Indiana, were hurt.
State police are investigating a case of theft by deception that happened on Sunday. Troopers say that a 19-year-old Indiana woman, who was not named in the report, was fraudulently scammed out of $900, when she was scammed into shipping a $500 laptop computer and a $400 smartwatch. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police at 724-357-1960.
