As expected, the Chargers beat the Colts in Monday Night Football last night, 20-3, wrapping up a playoff berth for LA, and making a playoff spot for the Steelers even more improbable. The odds are less than one percent for Pittsburgh to make it in. They have to beat the Ravens on Sunday night in Baltimore and the Browns next week and hope for an unlikely scenario: The Dolphins lose to the Patriots and the Jets in their final two games; the Jets lose to the Seahawks this week; and the Patriots lose to the Bills next week. Any other results will knock the Steelers out of the playoff picture.
The Steelers have lost cornerback Josh Jackson on a waiver claim by the Arizona Cardinals. Jackson was released on Saturday prior to the Raiders game to make room on the 53-man roster for safety Elijah Riley, who was activated to replace Terrell Edmunds and ended up playing more than anyone anticipated. Edmunds was out with his hamstring injury and his replacement, Tre Norwood injured his hamstring in the game.
Jackson played in four games with the Steelers this season, making six tackles and recovering a fumble.
Safety/linebacker Marcus Allen was wearing a sling on his injured left arm yesterday in the Steelers’ locker room. Coach Mike Tomlin said after the game Saturday night that Allen has a biceps injury. Yesterday morning, Allen posted photos on his Instagram showing him lying in a hospital bed and then being released from the hospital.

The Dolphins put Tua Tagovailoa in concussion protocol for a second time this season. He threw three interceptions on Sunday and reported symptoms yesterday. He could still play this week if he tests out of the protocol.
