Today is the day the temporary traffic signals take over traffic control at a bridge construction project in Plumville.
A single lane of traffic on a newly-constructed temporary road will enable crews to begin demolishing the existing bridge while continuing to work on the box culvert that will replace it. The bridge is on Route 85 near the Rossmoyne Road intersection on the eastern end of town.
It’s a $1.87 million project that also involves eliminating a curve at the site of the former Silver Dollar Inn, which was demolished to make way for the realignment. The work should be finished in December.
