State representative Jim Struzzi has been named to the House Children and Youth Committee for the rest of the 2019-2020 legislative session.
Struzzi will fill a seat that was vacated due to member resignations midway through their term on the committee. In a news release, Struzzi said that he understands the importance of making sure that children are well taken care of and is excited about the appointment. This will be added to his duties on the House Appropriations, Human Services, Insurance and Urban Affairs Committees, which he will keep through the rest of this legislative session.
The House Children and Youth Committee deals with legislation related to children’s health, living conditions, guardianship and general well-being. In an interview on Indiana in the Morning, Struzzi had expressed a wish to start a review process of the state’s children and youth services, as he feels there are some issues in the system that could cause problem for children across the commonwealth.
