The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board yesterday announced the return of more than $2.4 million in licensing fees to 1,428 municipalities across the commonwealth.
State law requires the PLCB to return liquor license fees to the municipalities from license holders within their borders. The funds can be spent in whatever way local officials choose.
The PLCB oversees the regulation of more than 15,000 retail liquor licenses statewide, including restaurants, clubs and hotels. The dispersal announced yesterday covers fees paid from Feb. 1st to July 31st.
Indiana County’s total dispersal is $22,050.
