The Penguins will play tomorrow night against the Avalanche at Colorado.
The Penguins held an optional practice yesterday and injured forwards Sidney Crosby and Nick Bjugstad skated hard. Defenseman Justin Schultz left after about 15-20 minutes, but Crosby and Bjugstad stayed out and were joined by Alex Galchenyuk, Sam Lafferty, Joseph Blandisi, Andrew Agozzine, Kevin Czuczman, Matt Murray, and Tristan Jarry.
Coach Mike Sullivan said Crosby and Bjugstad are close to returning to game action, while also saying he was reluctant to put a timeline on it. Crosby has missed 26 games, Bjugstad 24 as both recover from core surgery.
Meanwhile, the Pens are 5-1-1 in the last seven games. Sullivan said he’s gotten great contributions from all of the team members, but he was asked about two in particular who have been strong all season.
