A former Westmoreland County man who now lives in Indiana County pleaded guilty yesterday to seven counts of possession of child pornography and a single count of criminal use of a communications facility and was sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in the Westmoreland County Jail, plus five years of probation.
40-year-old Raymond Patrick Younger of Black Lick was originally charged with 22 counts of child pornography and. In exchange for his negotiated plea, 15 child porn charges were dismissed. The offenses were committed when Younger lived in Penn Township.
Judge Scott Mears said the pornography was “really very sick stuff” and he ordered Younger to undergo a mental health evaluation, prohibiting him from using the internet and having unsupervised contact with minors.
In his written plea, Younger told the court he has sought treatment and given his life to Christ, while acknowledging that he had to pay for what he’d done. He must report to the jail to begin serving his sentence on February 17th.
The case was prosecuted by the State Attorney General’s office.
In July, Younger was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals after surveillance video show his neighbor’s cat being tossed out of the window of his vehicle and then run over in the Sheetz parking lot in Burrell Township. Those charges were dismissed at District Court.
