State police are investigating the theft of a gun from a vehicle in Saltsburg Borough in late December. Police say that on December 26th, an unknown person from Saltsburg had a Baretta Bantam handgun taken from his car that was parked in his driveway. Police say the car was unlocked at the time. The gun has a black slide and a black hand grip with a stainless steel bar.
State police have charged a Strongstown woman with DUI. Police say on December 30th, they pulled over the woman, who was not identified by name, for summary violations. When they made contact with her, they determined that she was under the influence of a controlled substance. The incident happened on Route 422 West in Cherryhill Township.
State police have said that shooting that happened New Year’s Eve was ruled accidental. Troopers say the victim, 21-year-old Noah Reinard of Saltsburg had accidentally fired his gun into his right leg at 8:00 PM on December 31st. He was taken to IRMC for treatment and released.
