The good news for the Penguins last night was that they won and Jake Guentzel was named an NHL All-Star. The bad news is that Guentzel got hurt in the third period.
Evgeni Malkin had a pair of goals and an assist as the Penguins beat the Senators, 5-2. Jake Guentzel scored a goal, had two assists, and picked up his 200th career point as Pittsburgh won its 10th in 12 games. Tristan Jarry made 24 saves for the Pens.

Guentzel went face-first into the boards behind the net after scoring his goal. He was favoring his right arm as he left the ice.
Defenseman Kris Letang could be joining Guentzel on the All-Star team. He is one of the eight candidates for the “Last Men In” fan balloting to fill the final roster spot for the Metropolitan Division team. Voting begins tomorrow at NHLVote.com and closes on January 10th. Letang won the Last Men In vote last year. The All-Star game is a 3-on-3 tournament with three teams playing on January 25th in St. Louis.
