Clymer Borough Police have charged one of the witnesses to a December 21st altercation with drug possession.
Police were called for a fight on the roadway on Penn Street. Four people were there and one of them, 54-year-old Thomas Heinle of Spring Church, Armstrong County, was eventually charged with assaulting a woman by picking her up and slamming her down on the roadway. He is also facing drug possession charges after police spotted a white powdery residue and paraphernalia inside his vehicle.
Police say the assault of the woman took precedence at the crime scene, but the man who told them what had happened is now charged with possession of a controlled substance for having heroin on him. 25-year-old Aaron Cumberledge of Kittanning is charged with possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia. He’s scheduled for a preliminary hearing on February 10th.
Heinle will have a preliminary hearing for the assault and drug charges on January 9th.
