With quarterback Kenny Pickett in concussion protocol for the second time in eight games, the focus in the Steelers’ locker room yesterday turned to the largely forgotten Mason Rudolph, who may “get a helmet” for the first time this Sunday when the Steelers play at Charlotte. Rudolph has not dressed for a game yet this season after being the odd man out in the three-way quarterback battle in training camp.
The veteran QB told reporters yesterday he’s “ready to rock” if called upon.
Coach Mike Tomlin will be expected to have an update on Pickett today at his weekly news conference, but there will likely be very little information other than that Pickett is still in the protocol. Defensive lineman Chris Wormley is also going to be on Tomlin’s injury list. He injured his knee on Sunday and was on crutches with a knee brace yesterday.
