A Homer-Center teacher is facing child pornography charges following an online tip.
Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli says 31-year-old Charles Kirkland of Derry Township was arraigned Monday on felony charges of child pornography, along with disseminating photos and/or film of child sex acts, and criminal use of a communications device.
State police say they received a Cyber Tipline Report that Google reported suspected child pornography on an account and investigators with the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s office traced those videos back to Kirkland. Troopers add that some videos showed children under 18 years old.
Kirkland was arrested and released on $10,000 unsecured bond. A preliminary hearing is set for December 21st in front of Westmoreland County Judge Kelly Hammers.
Statement from Ralph Cecere, Jr., Superintendent, Homer-Center School District.
