A man wanted for a recent theft at the White Township Walmart store was apprehended earlier this week at a home in Young Township.
State police say that 33-year-old Jacob Shane Penrose was apprehended on Monday, December 16th. He was wanted by state police for a theft of some “slime” products valued nearly $35 from the Walmart on Oakland Avenue on December 11th. When Walmart’s loss prevention personnel approached him, he ran off and got into a pickup truck. The truck was spotted by a responding trooper who gave chase after trying to make the truck stop on Route 422. Pursuing troopers lost Penrose in the area of Laurel Road and Old Route 56.
On the 16th police say that they conducted a search of the home of Kayla Donahue in Young Township and Penrose was found in a closet. Penrose was arraigned and placed in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is set for January 14th at 3:00 PM in front of district judge Susanne Steffee
Police also filed charges of hindering apprehension against Donahue, who is listed as being from Homer City. She is also due for a preliminary hearing on January 14th in front of District Judge Steffee. She is free on $500 bail.
