An arrest warrant has been issued for a Clune man who is accused of stealing from the White Township Walmart store Wednesday afternoon and then leading state police on a pursuit they later broke off in Armstrong Township.
It happened shortly before 5 PM when troopers were dispatched to the store along Oakland Avenue. Police say 33-year-old Jacob Shane Penrose was confronted by a Walmart Asset Protection Associate and ran away after allegedly stealing two “Slime” products with a total value of $34.94.
Penrose fled in a pickup truck but was spotted by a responding trooper, who gave chase after attempting a traffic stop on Route 422 westbound. The suspect turned onto Parkwood Road and later made a left turn onto Laurel Road. He was able to evade capture in the area of Laurel Road and Old Route 56, where the pursuit was terminated. Trooper canvassed the area but could not locate Penrose.
Store surveillance images and social media helped police identify Penrose as the suspect. He’s described as a white male, 6-feet-1 and about 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattooed hands and tattoos on the front of his neck, including the word “respect”. His pickup is a silver 2010 Chevy Silverado with Pennsylvania license plate number ZKN 1381.
Penrose is charged with felony fleeing or attempting to elude police, retail theft, and nine summary traffic violations. If you know anything about his whereabouts or have information on his truck, you are urged to call state police at 357-1960.
