Margie Ruth (Biss) Pahutsky, 78, of Bowdertown, PA was born in Johnstown, PA on February 8th, 1941 to Irvin Oliver Biss and Margaret Elizabeth “Betty” (Bostic) Biss. She was raised on the Bostic/Biss farm in Bowdertown PA along with her siblings Robert I. Biss (Rita), David Biss (Jill), Alex Biss (Carol) and Brenda Schneider (Tom).
Margie attended and graduated with honors from Purchase Line High School in 1959. After a three year courtship, she married Peter Adam Pahutsky from Commodore PA in 1960.
Margie and Pete welcomed son Christopher John in 1961, Pamela Ann in 1962 and Patricia Elizabeth in 1964. They moved to Anderson, IN in 1961 then back to Indiana County in 1964 to the home they shared for fifty-five years in Bowdertown.
Margie earned her degree from Secretarial Business School in Pittsburgh. Her first job was at Fisher Scientific. Margie also worked at Mountain View Nursing Home in Hillsdale, PA, where she worked her way up to Administrator. She had been employed at the Indiana County Courthouse and finally at Purchase Line South Elementary, where she retired from in 2004.
Margie is survived by Peter, her loving husband of 59 years, her son Chris (Wanda); two daughters: Pam (Richard) and Pat (Tom); her three grandchildren: Rachel (Blake), Jacob (Bethany) and Ryan; one great grandchild born to Rachel and Blake, Mason; three step-grandchildren: Lisa, Mandy and Rob and five step great grand-children: Gabriella, Haley, JR, Imala and Atreyu.
Margie passed after a long battle with COPD, chronic heart failure and Parkinson’s Disease.
Family and friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13th, 2019 at Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 with Pastor Robert Sunseri officiating. Interment will be at the Thompson Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA.
