An Indiana County man is in Westmoreland County jail facing charges of drug delivery that resulted in death.
30-year-old Shawn Ray Jodon of Burrell Township is accused of providing the drugs that resulted in the death of his cousin, 22-year-old Brittany Nicole Adamson back in 2017. State police say Adamson overdosed at a home in Derry Township on December 12th of that year. She was pronounced dead at the Excela Latrobe Hospital. Troopers say that Adamson’s boyfriend lead the investigators to Jodon, as the two had met him to buy heroin earlier in the day.
Police say that Adamson had 11 empty stamp bags in her purse stamped with the label “7-UP” and needle puncture wounds were found on her hands. Jodon told police that he thought he had sold her heroin, but the autopsy report showed that she had lethal levels of fentanyl in her system, and a toxicology report later on confirmed that no heroin was found in her system.
On top of the drug delivery charge, Jodon also faces charges of criminal use of a communications facility and other drug offenses. He is in jail on $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for December 18th.
