Stop signs will also be placed at the 11th Street approaches, in preparation for the removal of the traffic signal in the spring as part of a bridge replacement project. PennDOT says it will study the intersection between now and the spring to gauge the effect of the signal’s removal.
Indiana Borough Council opposes the removal of the signal, but PennDOT says it studied traffic volume at the intersection on multiple occasions during the design phase of the bridge and found it does not meet the requirements for a signal,
