Two people were able to escape injury after a fire broke out in a mobile home in White Township.
Members of the Indiana Fire Association along with crews from Creekside, Homer City and Clymer Fire Departments and Citizens Ambulance all responded to the fire at the intersection of Grandview Avenue and 2nd Street in White Township. The mobile home contained not only the two residents in the home, but at least a dozen cats in the home. Indiana Fire Association Chief Ron Moreau said that emergency responders were ready to help the cats out with specialized rescue equipment.
Moreau did not release the names of the residents of the mobile home. He said the fire started in the stove in the kitchen. He attributed the quick knock-down to the fact that the nearest hydrant was across the street from the mobile home.
