Even with current quarterback Kedon Slovis announcing that he’s entering the transfer portal, the Pitt football program is getting not one, but two new backs.
The departing Slovis announced that he will transfer out of Pitt after the season, but minutes after, Boston College quarterback Phil Jurkovec announced his commitment to Pitt in a tweet.
Jurkovec, a Pine-Richland graduate, reunites with offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti, Jr., as both worked together at Boston College. He missed some time this season due to a knee injury suffered in October.
Joining Jurkovec is two-star prospect Ty Dieffenbach. He threw for 4,153 yards and 48 touchdowns while at Agoura High School in California.
