Three Fire companies were called out to an incident early this morning in Clymer Borough.
Clymer, Cherryhill and Commodore Fire Departments, along with the RIG team and Cambria County’s RIT team were initially called for a structure fire on Adams Street in Clymer Borough at 1:45 this morning. Fire officials would later classify this as a brush fire, but they found smoke in the basement and the lights were flickering. No fire was found, but crews stayed on the scene to clear the smoke after the power was cut off to the house. The cause of the alarm was a main breaker burning out.
Otherwise it was a quiet labor day for emergency crews. Fire crews were only called out twice, and they were for automatic fire alarm activations: One at 5:47 AM on Indian Springs Road, and the other at 4:57 PM on Whittier Drive in White Township. The Indiana Fire Association responded to both calls.
