Pirates General Manager Ben Cherington continues to reshape the Bucs roster.
Yesterday he designated first baseman Lewin Diaz for assignment, only a week after claiming him off waivers from the Marlins. Diaz was let go to make room on the 40-man roster for first baseman Carlos Santana, the Bucs’ biggest free agent signing so far this offseason.
