State police say they are searching for two people who stole the identity of a White Township man and used it to purchase a watch at a Sam’s Club store in Washington, PA.
The incident is dated August 19th, when the victim reported fraudulent charges on his credit card. The police investigation used surveillance photos from the store which showed the two suspects buying an Apple Watch for $410. They also attempted several times to purchase other items but were unsuccessful. The video shows them leaving the parking lot of the store in a black Dodge minivan with Florida registration. Police say it was a rented vehicle that was later traded at the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport for a white Jeep Patriot with Pennsylvania registration.
The only description offered for the two suspects is that they were a black man and a black woman. Police ask anyone with information on the incident to call them at 357-1960.
Also among today’s police reports, a 27-year-old Blairsville man was taken into custody last Friday afternoon after he was seen staggering along the road shoulder of Route 119 in Burrell Township. The man, whose name has not been released, was under the influence of illegal narcotics and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
