One person suffered injuries in a crash yesterday afternoon in West Wheatfield Township.
Indiana County 911 dispatched Clyde and Armagh Fire Departments, along with Citizens’ Ambulance and state police, to the area of Muir Road and Dayrose Lane near New Florence, Westmoreland County around 2:18 p.m. for a reported head-on crash involving two vehicles.
State police say a car driven by a 58-year-old New Florence man failed to stay in his lane at a curve and struck a car driven by 45-year-old Rebecca Stutzman of Seward. Both cars were disabled after the crash and both drivers were taken to IRMC for treatment of injuries.
The extent of Stutzman’s injuries is unknown. The man suffered suspected minor injuries.
Two other crashes were reported to Indiana County 911 on Monday. Homer City Fire Department was dispatched to Route 119 South in Center Township shortly after noon. This turned out to be a false activation of a crash sensor, according to department officials. All units were canceled shortly after the call went out.
The third happened sent Black Lick and Blairsville fire crews to Old William Penn Highway in Burrell Township around 4 o’clock. Blairsville Fire Department Spokesperson Ab Dettorre said it was a rear-end collision involving two cars. Both were taken off the road.
Information on injuries is unknown at this time.
